Sheer Fashion at Cannes 2011

While sheer is something I don't quite like in lipsticks and nail-polishes, it is an interesting characteristic when it comes to clothing. We have seen quite a few sheer gowns at Cannes 2011 red carpet so far, some of them are nice, some not so nice and one of them is 'I would rather not see'. Let's take a look.

Here's Ms Mallika Sherawat. An embarrassment to probably even spiders!
I know I am being a little insensitive here to have put up that black spider. But then she too was not really sensitive to our aesthetic sense!

Rachel McAdams in Marchesa
She looks pretty in this sheer dress with bright red embellishment.
Overall I like it, but just think that the dress is not doing justice to her upper curves.

 Candice Boucher in Gavin Rajah
The South African model is hot, but did we really want to see so much details including that bum curve?
I don't like that look from the back. If you wanna show those curves then sport a bikini but not a red carpet gown!

Penelope Cruz in Marchesa
I think she looks pretty in this lilac. Who can say she had a baby this year? She can probably still lose a few more pounds but I still like it!

    I Love rachel mc adams dress but yr right its like not doing her body any justice..with it was cu differently

    Not liking Mallika's and Candice's dresses. Other two are ok in my opinion. I am sure there are lots of sheer dresses that are more elegant looking and red carpet appropriate. Not sure why these dresses attracted these beautiful ladies!

    I love Marchesa gowns, there super gorgeous drapes absolutely flatter feminine curves,but Rache Adams sheer number isn't really happening,Penelope looks tre`s chic in her Marchesa number though..Candice is pulling off that sheer number very well though a bit more rear coverage wud have been better...Mallika oh Mallika why do you torture us so?

    ): Just focus around the waist, you can a little bit of extra weight, but noone's complaining :)

    oh and I like Penelope Cruz. I always like her but here her female ermmm thingies.. :|seem to be squashed against :|:| each other. I dunno why I said that.

    and Candice Boucher,:| she might be hot but is looking pretty trashy, infact I feel no pain saying as trashy as Mallika Sherawat. :|

    I quite like Rachel McAdams dress.. but you rightly pointed out that its not doing much for her body!

    Great blog Debleena. U have nicely covered the red carpet looks of most of the celebs. I personally like what Penelope is wearing. OMG!! at Candice. what was she thinking?!

    i LOVE the marchesa dress on rachael mcadams, ive been in love with that dress since it came out! absolutely gorgeous. and totally agreed that candice boucher is showing quite a bit too much... trashy.
