$ 2500 for a Shoe? Of course It's Jimmy Choo!!! Look Who's Wearing Them

Ever browsed through Jimmy Choo's website? I just did, with the intention of browsing only of course :) Wanted to see what those $ 1000 luxury shoes and accessories looked like in detail! Then found this one from their 'Cruse 11' range! This may not be the most expensive shoe on the site, but definitely one of them!

Each product on the site has a unique name which is something I found quite interesting. This one's called 'Ciara' and costs €1995 or $ 2500 or Rs 1,13,000! Here's more..

CIARA
Inspired by vintage jewellery from the 1920s, Ciara summarises all that Project Crystal is: rich, luxurious and timeless, but at the same time, cool, modern and relevant. This bold design is a masterpiece of Plexiglas engineering.
Heel Height: 135mm/5.3"
Soft Suede Sandal with Crystal Deco Anklet

I thought..I think twice even before buying a pair of shoes worth Rs 2500, and there are those lucky ones splurging $ 2500! So who are they?? Of course mostly Hollywood starts.. Here, let's take a a look.

Celebrities Wearing Jimmy Choo Shoes

Jeniffer Lopez Wearing Something Very Similar at the launch of the BlackBerry playbook and her new album, "LOVE?". Love the shoes and what abs!!

Courtney Cox visitng  "Good Morning America" in April this year wearing brown clog Jimmy Choo United sandals.

Courtney Cox again.. Visiting the "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York City wearing Volume Suede Sandal from Jimmy Choo.
I like her dress!! It's a Roland Mouret "Helena" quarter sleeve stretch crepe dress.

Khloe Kadarshan in a waitress look with mutli-colored sandals by Jimmy Choo.
Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kris Jenner are the cover stars for the May 2011 issue of Redbook.

Fergie on the red carpet wearing Jimmy Choo Glenys Elaphe snakeskin sandals which are gladiator inspired sandal with a zip front!
I wouldn't call this as one of my favorites!

Sarah Jessica Parker's character in Sex And The City was Jimmy Choos No1 fan.
She is wearing Jimmy Choo seven strapped silver patent sandals which are absolutely stunning!
So tell me what you think!
By the way tomorrow is my birthday and I am thinking of throwing some tantrums to my hubby dear, 'I want a pair from Jimmy Choo!'. Of course he wouldn't really do anything about it but in case you are wanna check them out here in India, here's where you can go.

In Love with Browns These Days: Peep-toes from Tresmode and My Chocolate Cake (with Recipe)

I picked this pair of brown peep-toes from Tresmode over the weekend.  I followed the anonymous advise on my shoe tag post here and moved to 14 from unlucky 13 for the count of my shoes :)

I was looking for a formal pair of shoes and definitely something non-black. I liked this pair in Shopper's Stop. The dark brown color will go well with most of my bottoms. The fit was perfect and comfortable and being made up of pure leather, should not cause sweat issues in Delhi's bad summers.

Price: Rs 1690

About Tresmode: Tresmode is an Italian brand and has been in India in 2007 in the major cities. However I hadn't really noticed them anywhere. It was recently that I spotted them in Shopper's Stop and liked their designs and they fitted very well. I have also seen an exclusive outlet in Select City, Saket.

Chocolate Cake

Remember we played a game as kids where someone would speak a word and you have say what is the first thing that comes to your mind (without really thinking) when you hear that word. I am sure this game had a name but I can't recall. Anyway, if anyone would ever say 'Brown', the only thing I would say is 'Chocolate Cake'. I actually call this 'Mom's Cake'!

Mom's cake is something that I can never get tired of eating. It's a very light, fluffy and delicious chocolate cake with a nice rich flavor. And more importantly it is pretty simple to  make (Of course if I can bake one, anyone can :)). Here's the recipe.

Mom's Simple Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Flour: 1.5 cup
Powdered Sugar: 1.25 cup
Cocoa Powder: 1/3rd cup
Soda Bicarbonate (Meetha Soda): 1.5 teaspoon
Salt: A pinch
Chocolate or Vanilla Essence: 1 tbsp
Chocolate Color: 1 cap
Refined Oil: 1/3rd cup
Milk: 1 cup with 2 tbsp of Vinegar
Eggs: 2

Method
Sieve flour, sugar, cocoa powder and soda.
Make a whole in the centre and add milk mixed with vinegar. Mix well.
Then add the essence (preferably chocolate but vanilla will also do) and color (this is not mandatory) followed by oil.
Finally break 2 eggs into the mixture and beat well (not for too long).
Then place the mixture in the convection mode in the microwave at 180 on the higher rack for 35 min.

Delicious cake ready, hope you like it!

My Shoe Tag: A Tribute to My Shoes!

The shoes carry you all around all day, so they certainly need some show of gratitude. This tag is my tribute to my shoes :)

I don't know if there's another shoe tag floating around, but here's what I have come up with. It would be a nice way to show your love for your shoes through this tag. But if you're too lazy, you can pick up your favorite question and answer here in the comment itself!

1. How many pairs do you have currently? And how many do you actually wear?
I counted in my mind and It's unbelievable that I actually have 13. Not because 13 is too high but because I end up wearing only 4 pairs :) This tag is helping me improve my self-awareness :)

2. What is the most common color of your shoes? And what is the most unusual color that you have worn?
I do have a few colors but black is what I wear most frequently.
Honestly I have been a little boring with shoe colors and there's no unusual color except a purple. In fact I want to see what people write here as I desperately want to add some colors and excitement to my shoes :)

3. What is the most and the least that you have spent on your (or someone else's) shoes?
Least I think has been Rs 80 from Gariahat (Kolkata) street shopping :). But that was some 10 years back!
Most for me has been only Rs 2500. Shoes were never my first love anyway.
I think I spent Rs 7k on a pair for my husband. Can't spend that much on mine ever!

4. Have you ever done anything dramatic with your shoes?
Well, the most that I have done is scaring away some crazy insects :)

5. What's your favorite type of heel?
Pump. I don't like flats and stilettoes are not comfortable, though I wish I could wear a few of them!

6. What's the height of your tallest ever heel?
Remember that era of tall platform heels. I used to have a pair I think 4.5 inches tall. I used to wear it a lot! It was just like the road was 4 inches higher :) That's been the tallest I have got.
Right now I have a stiletto that I rarely wear which also has probably the same height.

7. What was the brand you wore most frequently wore as a kid?
BATA!!

8. What's your favorite brand of shoes now?
No favorites, generally pick up stuff from the usual mall brands like catwalk, inc5 etc. GK I M Block also has some nice shops.

9. What's your favorite place for street shoe shopping?
I think Lajpatnagar Central Market has loads of variety!! I like GK M block too.

10. How expensive was that one pair that you wished you could own, but alas you couldn't afford :(
Well, this keeps happening all the time! I don't have to name Jimmy Choo here! The most I think I can spend on footwear is probably 3k. That way even Zara or Aldo give me enough occasions to sulk :)

Hope you had fun reading it, definitely do it if you're interested.
To start with, I would tag Mehak from peachesandblush. We all know she recently did some show shopping :)

Here are the questions again..

1. How many pairs do you have currently? And how many do you actually wear?

2. What is the most common color of your shoes? And what is the most unusual color that you have worn?

3. What is the most and the least that you have spent on your (or someone else's) shoes?

4. Have you ever done anything dramatic with your shoes?

5. What's your favorite type of heel?

6. What's the height of your tallest ever heel?

7. What was the brand you wore most frequently wore as a kid?

8. What's your favorite brand of shoes now?

9. What's your favorite place for street shoe shopping?

10. How expensive was that one pair that you wished you could own, but alas you couldn't afford :(

Zara has an Interesting Shoe Collection

Can you believe it, I go to the Select City Mall every weekend but today was the first time I entered the Zara store! Don't ask me why, because I am wondering myself! It was a Friday and the bosses were away, so I left office a little early. Dropped in the mall for some work which was over in the first 10 minutes. But then there was no point going home so early on a Friday evening. So I made the most of this opportunity of my being alone, by window shopping without feeling the guilt of making someone else wait!

Anyway coming to Zara, the store's pretty huge and very nicely set up and color coordinated. Besides clothes, they also have a huge collection of shoes comprising low heels, wide heels, stilettos, ballerina and some flats. I liked them and so decided to write about the two pairs that I thought were the most interesting (not necessarily the ones that I loved)!! Well, I think you need to have 'something' to be able to carry those shoes (both in terms of comfort and style). I know I can't (heels or price, both are pretty high). Nevertheless, I want to write about them. And do tell me what you think.

WIDE-HEELED SATIN SANDAL
Price: 5,990 INR
Height of heel: 11 cms./ 4,33 inches.

What makes them Interesting:
The Heel, The 'Belt', The Color Combination

I like these because of the sleek style and the vibrant colors.
Extremely chic and smart.

TWO-TONE WIDE-HEELED SANDAL
6,990 INR
Height of heel: 10 cms./ 3,94 inches

What makes them Interesting:
The Black & White Heel, The Zipper

I don't these tooo much because they have the same old basic design, but as I said, found them interesting!!

Here are some which are more wearable

STRAPPY MINI WEDGE

PLAITED MINI-WEDGE

Something that I really liked about Zara

I took some pictures in the store but they did not come out well since I clicked them in a hurry. When I came back home and looked at them, I was rather disappointed since I could not have written this post without the pictures. So I checked their website and was glad to see that they had it updated unlike most other brands in India. I did not see all the store shoes on the site but most of them were there.

So you can easily browse the site and decide on what you want to buy sitting at home with your hubby, and then just to the store to check the fit and the size. Trust me, it will be much quicker and hubby will be much happier :)

I wish the brands did the same too!

Some shoes I did not see on the website (The pics are really bad :()
